New animal shelter opening | News
A brand new state of the art animal shelter is preparing for its grand opening.
Henry and Trimble Counties came together last year to take over animal services and control for the area. This partnership led to the building of the new Henry Trimble County Animal Shelter.
Builders are creating a safe environment for the animals and are excited about the expansion.
“This is unbelievable,” said Dan Flinkfelt, Henry County Animal Control. We are going to have 15 indoor and outdoor kennels. We'll have a separate quarantine room which has its own air system, a separate vet room where we are going to do spay and neuter surgeries and basic vet care for animals that has its own air system. A kitten and cat room.”
Organizers are expecting the shelter to open July 3 and are accepting volunteers to help with the finishing touches.
